Email support@spottertruck.app — include your adapter model and iPhone model if it's a connection problem.
The adapter won't connect
- Something else is holding the adapter. A Bluetooth OBD adapter talks to one phone at a time. If another phone or another OBD app is connected (or was, and is still running in the background), Spotter can't see the adapter. Close other OBD apps, or toggle Bluetooth off and on.
- Ignition on. Many adapters sleep until the vehicle wakes the port.
- Check the adapter. See the tested adapters list — many inexpensive clones can't handle what Spotter needs and fail in ways that look like app bugs.
Wi-Fi adapters
Spotter supports Bluetooth LE adapters only. Wi-Fi OBD adapters require joining the adapter's network, which disconnects wireless CarPlay — the opposite of what a driving companion should do.
A value shows "—" or a section says Not Reporting
The app shows exactly which signals aren't answering and why. Occasional one-off blips at startup are normal and heal on their own. A signal that never reports usually means the adapter dropped that request — see the adapter list.
TestFlight
Beta builds are distributed through TestFlight ahead of App Store releases. Interested Land Cruiser 250 owners can email the address above.
